CONTROL WHO COMES IN

Keys are only one way to manage a door.

Access control allows you to decide who can enter, which doors they can use and when access is permitted. Depending on the system, users can enter with a card, fob, PIN, mobile credential or through an intercom release. EZtech installs the complete door solution, including readers, controllers, locks, exit devices, door contacts, power supplies, intercoms and the low-voltage cabling that connects everything together.

01

WHY ACCESS CONTROL?

Manage entry without handing out more keys.

Electronic access control gives property owners and managers more flexibility than traditional keys. Credentials can be assigned to individual users, disabled when lost and limited by door or schedule.

✓ Card and fob access✓ PIN and keypad entry✓ User schedules and permissions✓ Door status monitoring✓ Remote door release✓ Integration with intercom and CCTV

The right system depends on the door hardware, building use, number of users and level of control required.

02

HOW IT WORKS

From credential to unlocked door.

1. Identify

A user presents a card, fob, PIN or supported mobile credential, or a visitor calls through an intercom.

2. Verify

The controller or access platform checks whether that credential or request is authorized for the door and time.

3. Release

If approved, the system activates the electric strike, maglock or other compatible locking hardware.

4. Record

Supported systems can log access events, door status and selected alarms for later review.

ACCESS OPTIONS

From a single door to an entire building.

We select the entry method and system architecture based on the people using the property, the doors involved and how much control you need.

Keypad / PIN Access

Users enter an authorized code to unlock a door. Useful for selected residential, office and service-entry applications.

Card & Fob Access

Credential-based systems let authorized users present a card or fob at a reader. Access can be added, removed or scheduled without changing physical keys.

Mobile Credentials

Supported systems can allow approved users to use a smartphone as a credential. Availability depends on the selected access-control platform.

Video Intercom

Visitors call a resident, receptionist or staff member through an intercom. Supported systems can provide two-way audio, video and remote door release.

Smart Video Doorbells

A practical option for homes and smaller entrances, combining a camera, call notification and supported two-way communication.

Multi-Door / Building Access

Centralized controllers can manage several doors, users, schedules and access levels for offices, commercial properties and multi-tenant buildings.

COMMON COMPONENTS

Everything around the door has to work together.

A reliable access-control installation is more than a reader mounted beside the entrance.

+

Reader / Keypad

Reads the user credential or PIN and sends the request to the access-control system.

+

Door Controller

Processes access rules and controls one or more doors depending on the platform.

+

Electric Strike

Electrically releases a compatible latch while allowing the door to use standard mechanical hardware.

+

Magnetic Lock

Uses an electromagnet to secure the door and requires proper release, life-safety and code-compliant design.

+

Request-to-Exit

A button, motion device or other approved method can signal that a person is leaving through the controlled door.

+

Door Contact

Reports whether the door is open or closed and can support forced-door or held-open conditions on compatible systems.

+

Intercom Station

Lets a visitor call inside the property. Audio or video can be used to identify the visitor before release.

+

Power Supply / Backup

Provides appropriate power for locks, controllers and related devices, with battery backup where required or specified.

+

Door Release Button

Allows authorized staff, reception or residents to release the door from a convenient location.

INTERCOM & DOOR ENTRY

See or speak to visitors before you let them in.

Intercom systems can be installed as standalone door-entry solutions or integrated with compatible access-control equipment.

RESIDENTIAL

Homes & Small Properties

Video doorbells and compact intercoms can provide call notification, two-way communication and supported remote door release.

  • Front-door video calling
  • Smartphone notifications on supported systems
  • Two-way audio
  • Electric strike or gate release integration
COMMERCIAL

Offices & Multi-Unit Buildings

Commercial intercoms can route calls to reception, tenants or authorized mobile users while integrating with controlled entrances.

  • Lobby and entrance stations
  • Directory or tenant calling
  • Reception desk release
  • Video verification
  • Multi-door integration

EXISTING DOOR SYSTEM?

We can troubleshoot, expand or modernize it.

If a reader is not responding, a strike is not releasing, a maglock stays open, an intercom cannot call or users are having credential problems, we can diagnose the complete path from software and controller to power, cabling and door hardware.

Where practical, existing readers, locks, cabling or power supplies may be reusable during an upgrade.

Cabling & Hardware

We install low-voltage cabling and compatible access-control hardware with attention to clean routing and serviceability.

04

Programming

We configure doors, schedules, users, credentials and supported event rules.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Access control questions.

What is the difference between access control and an intercom?

Access control verifies authorized users through credentials such as cards, fobs or PINs. An intercom lets a visitor call someone inside for identification and possible remote release. The two can often be integrated.

Can I unlock a door from my phone?

Many modern access-control and intercom platforms support remote door release through an authorized app or web interface. Features depend on the selected equipment and service.

Can you install one controlled door only?

Yes. Access control can start with a single entrance and, depending on the platform, expand later to additional doors.

Can you reuse my existing electric strike or maglock?

Sometimes. We inspect voltage, current requirements, condition, door operation and compatibility before recommending reuse.

Do you install systems for condominiums and commercial buildings?

Yes. We work with offices, retail spaces, warehouses, multi-unit properties and other commercial environments as well as selected residential applications.

Can access control work with CCTV?

Yes. Compatible systems can be designed so door events and video are easier to review together, or cameras can simply provide visual coverage of controlled entrances.
